  • Ascension Seton Administrative Offices St. Vincent DePaul Auditorium, 1st Floor 1345 Philomena St. Austin, TX 78723 (map)

Strengthening the health of our community and supporting people living with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD) requires teamwork, innovative practices and collaboration, especially when they intersect with the criminal justice system.

Join Integral Care and their criminal justice partners on Wednesday, November 20th for a community forum exploring how community-wide collaboration is improving outcomes for people living with IDD who also intersect with the criminal justice system. Panelists from Integral Care, Austin Police Department, Travis County Sheriff’s Office and the Juvenile Public Defender’s Office will discuss:

Panelists will discuss:

  • What occurs before, during, and after an individual living with IDD engages with the criminal justice system

  • How collaboration among these agencies and members of the community can result in more positive outcomes

  • The steps Travis County has taken to build these partnerships over the years

Louise Lynch, Integral Care’s Provider Network Authority Officer and former Director of Integral Care’s Intellectual and Developmental Disability Services, will moderate the panel. Lunch will be provided.

The Community Forum also includes a Community Partner Education Fair to highlight the work of local organizations that support those living with IDD in Travis County. Organizations include: Integral Care, SAFE Alliance, The Arc of Texas, Travis County Mental Health Public Defender, and VELA.
