About the Panelists:
Laura Bosworth is a dynamic former Fortune 50 executive with 29+ years of cross-functional industry experience. She is CEO and co-founder of TeVido BioDevices, a biotech company using a patient’s own living cells and cutting-edge manufacturing techniques to restore skin color that is lost due to skin diseases, like vitiligo, or scarring due to trauma, burns, and surgery. The company has received grants from the NSF and the NIH. With a B.S. in Engineering she started in manufacturing and quickly moved into management; she has a long track record for establishing and leading new business functions supporting product development, sales, and marketing. She has been featured on CNBC, CNN, The Atlantic and many more.
Mellie Price is Managing Director of the Texas Health CoLab and Executive Director of Commercialization at the Dell Medical School. She is an experienced investor, technologist, executive, fund manager, public speaker, and serial software entrepreneur. Price is a co-founder of two highly successful startup ecosystems, Capital Factory and SoftMatch. She was also the founder of Front Gate Solutions & Front Gate Tickets (acquired by Live Nation NASDAQ: LYV), a data security company, two health tech startups, and the first web development company in Austin (acquired by Human Code/Sapient NASDAQ: SAPE). Ms. Price is an active member of the Texas entrepreneurship community and a winner of the Austin Business Journal’s prestigious Profiles in Power Award (2015) as well as the Tech Titan Award (2014).
An accomplished entrepreneur, Yash Sabharwal has over 20 years of experience with establishing and growing technology-based companies in the life sciences. Yash co-founded his first company, Optical Insights, in 1997. In 2010, Yash joined the technical co-founders of Xeris Pharmaceuticals where he served as COO and CFO at from 2011 to 2016. Under his leadership and guidance, Xeris raised over $60M in private capital and $15M in non-dilutive funding. Yash is currently CEO of NanoMedical Systems, which he joined in the beginning of 2017 to help commercialize drug delivery and diagnostics products based on their proprietary nanochannel and nanoporous technologies. He is also a co-founder and CEO of CherryCircle Software, Inc. which develops cloud-based knowledge management solutions for lifecycle product management in pharmaceuticals and medical devices.Yash has a B.S. in Optics from the University of Rochester and a M.S. and Ph.D. in Optical Sciences from the University of Arizona.
Buzz White is a servant, a leader, an entrepreneur, and a patient. He is the president and co-founder of Afoundria, selling software to providers caring for patients in the post-acute market. ChartPath makes providers more efficient, more profitable and gives them more meaningful time with each patient. Buzz believes in developing value for the health care dollar. He believes in connecting patients with and to resources to address needs, fears, desires, outcomes, satisfaction, and value. He’s passionate about finding innovative ways to improve the patient experience be that through technology, policy, operations, engagement, or education. I dream of Sabermetrics and its application in health care. Buzz believes in respectfully disrupting the industry and providing the tools, technology and education necessary to empower the newly defined consumer and solve the unique problems of our delivery system.
