Waller Creek Conservancy at the Metropolitan Breakfast Club

About two weeks ago the Capital City Innovation team visited the Metropolitan Breakfast Club to support Peter Mullan, Chief Executive Officer of the Waller Creek Conservancy. Waller Creek Conservancy, is a non-profit with a mission to create and maintain a chain of urban parks around Waller Creek, in partnership with the City of Austin, for the benefit of all. Peter joined the Conservancy in 2015 and previously was responsible for development, design, and coordination of New York City's famous High Line

Waterloo Park, located between 12th and 15th street, is the largest downtown park on Waller Creek and is currently set to be open in 2020. We're excited for the people and programming that it will bring by activating and opening community green space in downtown Austin.

With Waller Creek running through Dell Medical School and adjacent to Central Health's Downtown Campus, we see the chain of parks that Waller Creek Conservancy is developing as important space for Austin's Innovation District and the larger community.

View the Facebook live recording below and hear about the phased updates planned for Waller Creek.

Interested in the breakfast club? They Meet EVERY Wednesday and are a welcoming bunch of people. Find out more about their scheduled speakers and membership on their site or give them a like on Facebook.  And say hello if you see us there!
